About the Author
Hello there, my name is Katelyn, as you already knew from reading the little box on the sidebar on my Blog Page. All my life I have loved creepy crawlies, whether they were millipedes or true bugs, snakes or lizards, so this blog has been a natural extension of my passion. I really hope to enlighten the general public about how non creepy crawlies really are, by providing them with factual information put into a bite-sized format in my blog. I believe it's how misunderstood these creatures really are that is the main culprit, thus my approach. Another thing I believe very strongly in is that God created the universe in six, literal 24-hour days and that the earth is only around 6,000 years old, so you won't hear me mention anything about how "perfectly evolved" a creature is, or "it must be tough if it survived for millions of years." I'm a Bible-believing Christian, if you hadn't figured it out already. :)
Much of what I write here comes from a lot of personal experience. I have kept many kinds of spiders ranging from the disarmingly cute Salticids (jumping spiders) to Lycosids (wolf spiders) that attack prey with a ferocity that is awe-inspiring to behold. They are my main interest, but in addition to spiders (Arachnids) I have kept quite a few insects such as praying mantises, stick insects, and cockroaches. Still, let's not forget the myriapods (millipedes and centipedes) that got me into this addiction! Though I have never kept centis, I have kept several species of millis, including C. spinigerus and H. haydeniana, or, in their common names, Florida Ivory Millipedes, and Yellow-Spotted Millipedes. I also own a little corn snake named Hydrangea that is nearly a year old now. Her picture is below. :)
I hope you enjoy your time here at All Things Creepy Crawly!
